The pint amber perfection is a rare jar - I think there are 6 or so out there.  Normally, the perfection jar comes in clear and is relatively common in that color.

This particular jar was found in an antique shop in Indiana.  I've pretty much given up shopping for nice jars in antique shops up here but occasionally things do turn up (my green HP safety valve turned up in a Washington

Sometimes jars were made in special colors for special purposes.  The black Hartell's jars (actually a deep purple) were made for pharmaceuticals (some of them still have their old glass labels on them) and the cobalt Millvilles and cobalt Lightning may have been used for similar purposes.  I suspect that this is the case with the amber Perfection based on essentially zero evidence except that a similar amber colored jar with the Perfection closure was definitely used for medical purposes along with other amber jars (i.e., the Johnson and Johnson amber jars).

These jars are believed to have been made by Ball.
